Graduating from Russia in 2012, Dr. Chan Kok Xian began his medical journey with training at Penang General Hospital and subsequently served at the district hospital of Sabak Bernam for two years. With five years of experience in the Government’s healthcare clinics, Dr. Chan further advanced his expertise by obtaining a Diploma in Family Medicine in 2017.
Demonstrating exceptional proficiency, he passed his specialist examination from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Malaysian Academy of Family Physicians (MAFP) in 2019 on his first attempt.
While many of his peers pursued careers as cardiologists, anesthetists, and other specialists, Dr. Chan chose to serve the community directly, continuously enhancing his knowledge and skills. His commitment to lifelong learning led him to become one of the youngest candidates to pass the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) examination. This prestigious certification, equivalent to a specialist designation, allowed him to register as a National Specialist.
In 2023, Dr. Chan decided to expand his clinic to offer a broader range of services, driven by his core principles of empathy, continuity, and coordination. His interests particularly lie in sexually transmitted disease (STD) services, having managed numerous cases of STDs and HIV throughout his career. Additionally, Dr. Chan has published a paper on methadone treatment for morphine addiction, reflecting his dedication to research and advancing medical knowledge.
Dr. Chan is also particularly interested in knee treatment and has successfully delayed the progression of knee osteoarthritis in many patients. His innovative approaches and dedication to patient care have significantly improved the quality of life for those suffering from this condition.
Currently, Dr. Chan is actively involved in medical teaching and education, striving to contribute to the healthcare industry through various endeavors. These include medical work with the Orang Asli and refugees, medical missionary activities, and research studies. His dedication to the community and commitment to medical excellence continue to guide his professional journey.
