Background and Education:
Dr. Yeow Wei Bin, a dynamic and dedicated medical professional, was born in 1992 in Seremban, Malaysia. Growing up in a family of educators, with both parents serving as high school teachers, Dr. Yeow developed a strong foundation for discipline and a passion for lifelong learning. He excelled academically, achieving 9 A+ and 1 A in his SPM in 2009. He continued his stellar performance in the Cambridge GCE A-Level program in 2011, earning an impressive 3 A* results.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to medicine, Dr. Yeow pursued his MBBS degree at the prestigious Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, India, from 2012 to 2017. His journey in India not only honed his medical skills but also broadened his cultural and professional horizons. After completing a rigorous housemanship in India and obtaining full registration with the Karnataka Medical Council, he returned to Malaysia in 2018 to serve his nation.
Professional Experience:
Dr. Yeow completed his housemanship at Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya between 2019 and 2020, receiving full registration with the Malaysian Medical Council in 2020. His initial posting as a Medical Officer in the Anaesthesia Department at Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya set the stage for his multifaceted career.
He then served at the District Hospital Raub, Pahang, where his expertise covered both the Emergency Department and O&G Department. Dr. Yeow is proficient in acute emergency management, various ultrasound scans (FAST scan, bedside ECHO, IVC, Antenatal), SVD, intubation, chest tube insertion, dialysis catheters, and CVL placement. His rotation through the Outpatient Department every two months has ensured his thorough understanding of primary healthcare settings and management.
At the District Hospital, Dr. Yeow has also managed the Surgical Outpatient Department (SOPD) weekly, performing minor surgeries such as toilet and suturing, excision biopsy of lipoma/sebaceous cyst, TRUCUT biopsy of breast lumps, FNAC of neck masses, wound care management, bedsore management, and management of benign prostate hyperplasia. Additionally, he has experience in OGDS and colonoscopy under the guidance of General Surgeons.
In 2021, Dr. Yeow was attached to the O&G Department at Hospital Kuala Lipis, a tertiary hospital, where he gained extensive experience in SVD (normal delivery), perineal repair, wound care, Pap smear testing, Pipelle sampling, family planning, antenatal and gynecological scans. In 2022, he furthered his specialization in pediatrics with an attachment to the NICU at Hospital Kuala Lipis, managing conditions such as bronchiolitis, croup, neonatal jaundice, bronchopneumonia, and neonatal intubation.
Special Interests and Achievements:
Beyond his robust medical career, Dr. Yeow is also passionate about Occupational Health. He completed the NIOSH Occupational Health Course and passed the Occupational Health Doctor (OHD) exam in 2022. He now provides OHD services including audiometry interpretation, lung function test interpretation, and medical surveillance for chemical and physical hazards.
In September 2022, Dr. Yeow joined Careplus Family Medicine Specialist Clinic, where he currently serves as the doctor in charge at the Careplus Clinic Bubut. He brings a wealth of diverse specialty experience and training to elevate primary healthcare delivery to the Kepong and Kuala Lumpur community.
Aesthetic Medicine and Wellness:
Dr. Yeow’s interests and expertise extend to aesthetic medicine, wellness, and regenerative medicine. He has completed the Medical Aesthetic Certification (MAC) program, a certified aesthetic program that has equipped him with advanced skills and knowledge in the field. Over the years, he has helped many patients boost their confidence through various minimally invasive aesthetic procedures. He is skilled in treatments such as Botox, fillers, and skin rejuvenation techniques. Dr. Yeow also offers personalized IV drip services tailored to different needs, including hydration therapy, vitamin infusions, and detoxification.
